The Secret of Take a Bath for Health
94Good morning, everyone! How are you today? I hope you all fine and healthy…amen. What is the most fun and healthy activity in the morning? Besides doing some exercise, of course. I thought the most fun and health activity in the morning is taking a bath. Everything related with water give us freshness. Water is a substance from nature which has a lot of benefit for human, animal and plants. We all depend on the water. We need water as a daily need. I thought we took a bath every day, right. The main factor we need take a bath for cleanliness but the bath is also useful for health. I heard many people said that they spend much time in bath room. After working hard all day long, they need to relax. No wonder they soak their body in the bath tub while listening to music or by adding essential oil for aroma therapy. There’s a great sensation while the water touch the skin. All fatigue will disappear as soon as possible. Personally I’ve proven this many times. After the break from teaching, I felt fresh and I got new power after took a bath.
There’s a study has published by the New England Journal of Medicine showed that the diabetes patients who spent only a half hour soak in a tub of warm water can lower blood sugar levels by about 13 percent. Other research has been done in Japan said that with a 10-minute soak in warm water can improve heart health both of men and women. That’s amazing report just for doing this activity regularly every day. Even I got other information that take a bath also has a role to boost the immune system, prevent skin diseases, even to healing some of serious medical problems. Sometimes we don’t pay attention to this. Just take a bath enough for us, instead there a secret behind take a bath. Most of us thought that this is just an activity to cleanse the body. But with the right ritual we're getting a lot of benefits, especially for our health. Sorry, ritual is like a mystical. How if I use this sentence: with the correct procedures for bathing we got a lot of benefit. I classify the secret of take a bath into two sections. Bathing use warm water and take a bath with the cold water. Cold water is mean not very cold like an ice but water which is not boiled. Curious, please continue to read…………
1. Take a bath with warm water
I think the modern house has been equipped with water heating facilities. We need something quick and instant. We can use this technology to get warm water. But for alternative we can do this manually. By boil the water, and then mix it with cold water. The warm water is ready to use. The benefit a shower using warm water like :
Remove toxins
This is always become a good moment for us if we want to use warm water with temperature around 32-35 Celsius degrees. With this temperature has a function to open the pores which can help remove toxins. Warm bath also can help lowering blood sugar levels, heal sore muscles and helps keep the colon working properly. I recommended the best time for 10-20 minutes.
Infection
Do you remember my hub about the benefit of apple cider vinegar. This time I’ll show to you the combination between take a bath and apple cider vinegar. We can use this method to healing infection like thrush. Thrush can be helped by adding three or four spoon full of apple cider vinegar into the bathtub. It's also good to remove toxins from the body because the vinegar has a function to re-balance the acid. Add the warm water and soak for 15-20 minutes.
Influenza and headache
Actually I never thought before that by simplest activity by soaking feet in warm water can help cure colds and headaches and it also refresh tired legs. Pour the warm water into the bathtub to cover the foot and ankle. What next…… and then we can add a few drops of oils such as lavender, peppermint or lemon. After finished we can flush with cold water. Do it for 10-20 minutes.
Eczema
As the most annoying skin disease we don’t want to get eczema. But we can share this information to our family or friends. I hope this method can help to reduce eczema and other skin disease like rashes or itching by adding baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) into the bathtub. Sodium bicarbonate acts as an antiseptic. Just follow this instruction: Fill the warm water with one pound of baking soda and stir until blended. It is advisable to soak for 10-20 minutes.
2. Take a bath with cold water
Although I recommend this method, but not all of us get used to using cold water. It back to us and related with our condition. I thought for elderly maybe it difficult to use cold water. This is an exemption for those. My advice is chose the best for us. Don’t push our self if we never do this before or consult with the doctor. The benefit a shower using cold water like :
Good for circulation
Do you felt fatigue very often? This is a sign that there’s a bad circulation in our body. What should we do? Try these tips: soaking the feet alternately between warm water and cold water. Start by soaking the foot for one or two minutes in warm water, then 30 minutes in cold water. Try to do for 15 minutes and then finished with cold water. I also heard that this method also good to launch the blood circulation.
Reduce stress or depression
This could happen very often, right. We can't deny about this. Our life surrounded by a lot of problem like working, family, relationship even family problem. We need simple method to reduce kind of this stress. Bathing with the cold water will be the right answer. I recommended using the temperature around 12-18 Celsius degrees. Take a bath using cold water also good to reduce tension. I heard other information. It was said that bathing ritual in the morning with cold water usually done by Japanese samurai warriors in the past. This ritual is commonly called Misogi in Japanese. The habit was intended to cleanse the soul so that the mind becomes more calm and get through the days with full of new spirit. Actually this logically happen to our body when a cold shower can relieve depression and stress effect. After take a bath, the body felt fresh, the mind becomes calmer, clearer and more relax, right.
Create healthier hair
There’s a good question for us. What happens to the hair when we washed the hair with cold water? The answer also surprising me, actually the cold water can cover the hair cuticle and good to reduce the hair loss. Hair would be better protected from dirt that is usually attached to the scalp. And then the hair will become healthier and stronger. Hair is the crown of the body, so why we don’t try this.
Reduce the risk of high blood pressure
I heard this information from a hypnotherapist from the American Board of Hypnotherapy. His name is Frederic Premji. He said that bathing with cold water will reduce the risk of high blood pressure, varicose veins and hardening of blood vessels. This was caused by a cold water will launch the entire circulation of blood to the organs of the body.
Improve the health of body tissues
We can get this benefit by take a shower with cold water in the morning. If we keep this habit every day will give a positive impact on the health of body tissue. Other effects are the skin is not dry and become supple, reduce stains and dark circles at the bottom of the eye, give a positive impact on the nail tissue. Nails will become healthier, stronger and not easily cracked.
Increase fertility
Bathing with cold water in the morning have a positive effect on human reproductive health. The benefit is to increase the production of the male testosterone hormone and estrogen hormone in women. As a result, it could increase the fertility and sexual desire. Wow… this is like a second honeymoon, right.
Increase white blood cells
If the white blood cells in the body increase, it is good to increase the body's endurance and the ability to fight the virus. Other positive effect is the body always fit and we don’t easily get sick. Because of the immune system is always well maintained. This information based on to the results of studies in the UK.

The benefits of water and the therapeutic effect of taking baths have been known and appreciated for centuries, starting with the Egyptians and Romans. The Middle Ages kind of ignored it all and France came up with a "substitute" inventing perfume which they used and abused:-)))
Another informative hub prasetio30. There is nothing more enjoyable than a warm aromatherapy bath where you can really soak your cares away
Very nice and relaxing read. I love warm bubble baths too, so stress relieving after a long day, helps me sleep better. Great hub.
We can't live without water...and of course, taking a bath! Thanks for this hub, prasetio.
It would be great to have a cascade of fresh and natural water in front of the house .... A beautiful dream! But we can dream even under a cold shower ... and regenerate! Thanks for speaking out of water .. Water is life and energy.
prasetio, Great tips and facts on the secret of take a bath for health. I love the vinegar tip and will be doing that this weekend. I know it has great healing powers and yet had not thought of using it in the bath. Baths are very useful and in this age of quick showers it's great to be reminded of the power of the bath.
Bath for health is a rate up, must share and voted everything good! Peace :)
I need to take more baths and less showers. Great Hub.
I am very grateful for having the privilege to merely open taps for warm and cold water and to enjoy luxurious baths and showers daily. My parents – when they were children – and my grandparents and all before them, did not have this privilege, and here are still a lot of poor people in our country who have no choice but to carry water to there homes and to clean themselves with a little water in a little tub. Great hub, prasetio! As always. Please tell us more about your work as a teacher. What times do you teach and where and what is the subjects you teach. Or did you already do a hub about this?
I've lived in humid climates, where taking two baths a day was the norm and I've lived in very dry climates where every other day would suffice(depending on your level of activity). I prefer showers to baths, because it is quicker and you get cleaner!
Prasetio, What a great hub about bathing and the used of hot and cold water. You gave us so much information. Rated up!
Nephew! When you put all these pretty women on your hubs! I want to bathe!

I am personally a showerer. That said, on the rare occassion that I do, for whatever reason, decide to take a bath, I do have to admit it IS usually a relaxing thing to do. Of course, these days we have the hot tub and so since the wife and I have had that, baths are something I really don't do in the tub anymore.
Wow... never thought there are so many advantages of taking a bath. Great info.
As always, a great hub. Many suggestion to improve our health and easy to do. Thank you.

This is a very well constructed and interesting Hub! Rated up several ways.
I know of a woman in South Korea, the parent of a client, that still carried water to her small house in the village, up a mountainside many times a week, in her 80s. We are fortunate to have running water.
prasetio30- Thanks for the info ref your teaching. I'm sure you enjoy working with children and you have, besides the normal, a lot to share with them. Take care!
I learned taking a bath is more than removing dirt. thanks for sharing!
Hello my friend I am finally back from my long journey and what a fantastic hub, this is so important I am sending this to my daughter. I love baths and to read a good book...thank you for this great advise, your friend and fan darski
Nothing is more relaxing then a nice hot bath. I add a few drops of eucalyptis and peppermint oil sometimes. Other times I add vinegar and soda which gives the water a nice soft feeling. I mostly take showers. I will increase the bath now that I have read your wonderful hub. Whether I bathe or shower - I go all out. I dim the lights and light candles. Sometimes I light candles using aromatherapy oils. I play soft new age or indian flute music and enjoy the entire experience. I feel re-born after this. If I am sad, I always begin to feel good the minute I feel the water. I am also a "Pisces"/Aquarius" which are water signs. Thank you dear prasetio30 for a re-newed awareness for bathing and the healing effects of water. Blessings to you, my friend.
Well done hub, prasetio30! I love water, the best part of my day is a nice warm bath. It relaxes me and I often fall asleep in the tub!
Thank you for presenting great reasons for me to do one of my fave activities... soak in a bubblebath! You have done it again with another great Hub. I'm off now to go find the bubbles.
I had to check out this one as the title is so compelling! Wow I learned a lot here. I never knew a warm bath could help lower blood sugar levels. I love a hot bath and I'm still hoping one day I'll have a house with a great big jacuzzi tub. For now it's showers.
This Hub made me think of my great grandmother who ran a public bath house in old New York City. I'm inspired to write about it one day. Rated up, useful and awesome.
Showers are so much quicker, but yes a bath is so nice, soak out all the tiredness and add a deep good smell and softness to the skin. Great hub!
Polly
This is a great hub.I didn,t know about baking soda in the bath. I loved your comment, to wake up each morning and smile. That,s the only way to start the day. Thank you for all of your great info. on all your hubs.
Love and Peace
good hub! I am beginning to wonder if baths are better than showers here in big cities. The water is full of chemicals like chlorine, which evaporates as water cools and sits, but in the shower my body absorbs it all, drying my hair and skin, a bath with salt seems a lot better for me... a lot of good information here...
Taking a bath will remove not only dirt but also heat and discomfort in our body and mind, that's why I like to take it specially in cold water.

Hi, prasetio! I am so glad that studies show the health benefits of taking a bath. There is nothing like a nice long soak in the tub to relax tired muscles and a tired brain. But forget about the cold bath. That sounds like torture! Unless it's a hot day.
Great tips Prasetio30, I am so pleased I popped by. Thank you.

Thumbs up!
I totally love baths and wish I could have them more often but we have to think about thé water that is wasted whenever one takes a bath. We have to use water wisely and have baths ONLY once in a while not everyday!!
Nice hub
Great info!
I'm such a fan of bubble baths! lol.

I have always found a bath to be very cathartic and comforting. It makes me feel better if I am ill or have problems, am stressed.
Taking bath make me feel refresh and relaxed. Thanks for your healthy hub.Keep writing....
Great and very interesting hub!
I don't like cold showers, but hot shower helps me relax and feel better when I'm ill. I could enjoy it for hours!
Good work as usual pointing out the benefits of taking a bath. Those of us with running water in our homes are fortunate compared with many people in the world and we need to be grateful for those blessings. Just think of the current situation in Haiti right now with cholera spreading and taking lives because of polluted water! There but for the grace of God... Rating this up and useful. Thanks!
I have never thought of these advantages of taking bath; I just take bath and start my daily work. This hub is really informative; thanks for sharing these advantages with us.
Sweating evolved mainly to regulate temperature, not to remove toxins. There are no scientific studies that provide evidence of specific health benefits from the removal of toxic substances by sweating.
Real detoxification of foreign substances takes place in the liver, which modifies their chemical structure so they can be excreted by the kidneys which filter them from the blood into the urine.
Look sorry about the rant but it's so annoying to find this added nonsense to a beneficial article.
Oooh absolutely - a bath does everything for me. It was so common too when I lived in S. Korea - the spa with baths were quite extensive - and actually fabulous and affordable - a part of a very high standard of living.
A good bath takes away the aches and pains, the stress, relaxes me - all the while cleansing me. I could not live without the pleasure of bathing.
Thanks a million. Rated up of course.
Thank you for a great hub! Bathing is life's greatest pleasure ... I usually add Epsom salt and some aromatherapy oil like vanilla and pine in my bath.
Best wishes,
Li
This is awesome information Prasetio - thank you for sharing. I shall try lots of these things now. I just love lying in a hot bath filled with bubbles and it's going to be difficult switching to a cold bath - guess I will only be in there for two seconds!!! I am bookmarking this page and definitely voting it up.

I could not live without my baths. The luxurious steamy water - ahhhh! I actually crave it. There is no better way for me to unwind each evening - than with a relaxing bath.
Thanks a million and rated up of course. Yay!
I love my baths in the morning and evening. I just use the shower and enjoy the warm water and aromatic soaps.
It does give a therapeutic experience to me. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent hub! That's amazing info about lowering blood sugar level by taking a warm bath and boosting the immune system (understandable, since when not clean, it can get into the organs of your body). Great! Voted/rated.
Very nice hub! I have one question for you. There are some white spots on my body. Can aroma therapy help to remove that? If I take medicine for that, it disappears but after 2 or 3 months, again they come out.
i thought a cold shower or bath would reduce the testosterone. this is what they advise when men get hot and bothered. instead we are increasing their fertility. who would have guessed. i suppose the saying had to come from somewhere.
before taking a bath you should make sure that your bath tub is clean of hair mold and soap scum you should pull your shower curtin down every month and wash it in hot soapy water with bleach if its not white use color safe bleach spin dry and rince with hot water in shower and hang dry. You be suprised how toxic your bath water is when the tub is not clean. If you have had body sponges for over 3 months throw them out.
Yes i also prefer cold water over hot.Hot water damages our hairs as well.
WOW!!!! This Hub is GREAT! So informational, which I need this info.
Hi .. great post!!
Keep it up
Who would of thought that there were so many benefits to taking a bath. I think there is something for everyone in this article. I found quite a few helpful hints. My favorite was the relaxing with music.
VERY NICE.. :)
It's very interesting. I've got so many information on health. Thank you!
What is best source for water, well? Because many people get allergic to tap water, possibly due to chlorine. Great Hub.
The water needs to be filtered first to claim any of these benefits you mentioned!!!
A warm bath can indeed be beneficial in so many ways. @30 years ago I went to the wind river mt pass and hiked for about 10 days each day I reached a new Plato becoming more and more spectacular. The water in the streams was so clean and clear. At the highest point there was a glacier fed lake the water was so clear. There was an island in the middle and there was golden trout. They the lake and the fish seemed to be floating. Because the water was so clear. This water had very real healing properties. This journey was magical the water and the environment. A bath in this water would be similar to the fountain of youth. Also water from an artesian well would be similar. I read that hydrofraking is contaminating deep ground water and the toxins are spreading across the entire country. I'm talking about water. A bath you can not have with out it.
