The Rule In Hotel

Updated on September 9, 2011

For some people hotel is the place to have fun. And for other people hotel is the last choice for take a rest. Outside the main goal we go to hotel is we want comfortable place. To felt the comfort, there are many rules we have to know. And we must do this and sometimes we have to obey these rules. I believe we all familiar with hotel and I think most of Hubbers may stay at Hotel very often. We usually stay at hotel for holiday with family or for business trip. We need to stay at the hotel. I just remind again how to stay in Hotel more comfortable, by knowing these rules below:

Inside the room

Although this bedroom is not belong to us. But we have to taking care and keep the bedroom well, like our bedroom at home.

  • Don't make noise inside the bedroom. Like talking a loud. Turn on television and music loudly, jump on the bed (kids may allow, but for adult I don’t think so). Although there is a wall to separated between two bedrooms, but loud sound may annoying in others room.
  • Don't open the connecting door inside the room when we rent just for one bedroom. Although beside our room was locked for privacy reason.
  • Don't take many people inside the bedroom. It different when the bedroom has guestroom ( like in the suite room), there is another reason using that room. if we want to receive visitors more than 20 people, can be done in the lobby or in the coffee shop.
  • We shouldn’t brought food and drinks with strong flavored.
  • Don't brought pets inside the bedroom. We all know about that. Because not all hotel has pet care services.
  • Towel used according to the function. Including bath towel, hand towel and face towel.
  • Enter the shower curtain into the bath-tub. It doesn't soaking the bathroom, which is dry bathroom.
  • Pay attention to the electricity voltage when we use hairdryer, razor or mobile phone charger.
  • Not all amenities (hotel equipment) always available in the bedroom.  To get for free thing such as toothbrushes, please ask the housekeeping.
  • Don't take the contents of mini-bar if you do not want to pay for that. As well as hotel slippers or other item, because the hotel already has inventory list in each bedroom. If there are lost things, we immediately get taxable charge (and the price could double from supermarkets).
  • Be careful when watching pay per view movies. We have to pay for that. Usually for adult movie. Sometimes we get free in the first 30 second, but after that it was the same price with two hours movie.
  • We should store our valuable things, like jewelry or important document in the safe deposit box.
  • Don't forget to lock your room with double lock, especially at night. And the important thing is never leave the bedroom with unlock condition.
  • Pay attention with the shape and the function of the bedroom key. Don’t hesitate to ask how to use that key.
  • Keep the room always clean and tidy, especially for bathroom. Don’t throw garbage in everywhere, but use the available place for garbage.
  • If you are smoker, don’t forget choose the room where you can smoke in the bedroom . Usually the hotel provide certain rooms (specific room as well) that allows guests to smoke in the bedroom.  Don’t  forget to always open the window in order to maintain the air circulation. This could happen If the hotel allows us to open the window.

Outside the room

When we are outside the room, don’t forget if the hotel is a public place. With many facilities for all the guests. We need a little tolerance when using all the facilities,

  • Don't interfere with other guests. If we don’t want disturbed, don’t disturb others.
  • Lobby and swimming pool is also public place. Use it wisely. Don’t stay a long time in lobby. We can use longue to order drink or snack.
  • Don't wearing slippers for take a walk outside the bedroom, except in the swimming pool.
  • Always look at check out time. Excess up to five minutes without prior notice, we can get an additional charge for one room per day. Usually the time to check out is at 12:00 am or late check-out at 02.00 pm. There are also late check-out at low season at 04.00 pm..
  • Please check the parking ticketing when we brought personal car. Don’t forget to ask note at the in front office, and we don’t have to pay.
  • Please check all the bills carefully. Include telephone bill, mini bar or room service.

Talking about tips

Don't confuse about the tips which we have to give to the hotel officer who help us. It usually minimum 10% from the total hotel charge. In this place all the service, from bedroom until restaurant. The service charge between of 5 to 10%. depending on hotel policy. Actually if we don’t want give the tips there is no problem. Because we had paid the service charge. It depend ourselves.
