I like Problogger. Darren talks about making money but isn't always throwing affiliate offer in your face. He make a lot of money from his Digital Photography site so he talk talk, but walk walk. A lot of blogs like Shoemoney just try to constantly sell you something. Darren just tell you what work.

hi!this is an inspiring hub. i want to be a professional blogger too but i am afraid of the things that are happening to other bloggers. some of them are being arrested for the contents of their blogs. is it really safe to do blogs? what are the things that need to be avoided in making blogs?

Question to you... Do you make a decent amount of money from blogging or hubpages? Attitude is the key to success no matter what. The more positive your attitude is, the better you do at anything... People feed off of positive thoughts and positive you are. I remain positive about this blogging/hubpages thing because I do not care if I make money or not because I am not really here for that... I write to write and get the word out about certain things... Any money I can make, that's great because it will all go to a good cause: My church, Charity (Multiple Sclerosis Research), and my children's savings/trust funds. Good hub.

Good hub. However, I think the bottom line is you have to write fairly well, write every day, advertise yourself by responding to comments and posting comments, and build a following. That doesn't happen overnight. As long as you realize that, and put all your effort into your hub, I imagine you could conceivably end up with a committed following. Of course, you have to have good content and have enough variety of content to keep hubbers interested. Reinventing the wheel, I believe, is not going to work! (LOL)

Is the statistics you presented here really correct... I know some of these blogs get good traffic but So much Income... and such Advertising fees... I think It is Unfair to believe in this.
Overwhelming, but this isn't impossible. You've done a good research and with these comments, I'm sure that the persevering hubbers are already making it to the top, too. Wow! This is great information - real and inspiring. The part about not sleeping much - yes, it is a 24/7 job. Where does life and blogging begin?
Should an experienced writer be called a blogger? Isn't there a better term? We even have a term "barista" - are we then a "writrista"? Or should it be based upon volume of hits and/or reads? If you have over 1,000,000 readers - you are then a "readrista" who has proven with millions of readers.
Just a thought to munch upon.

Why all the blogger above less in sleep, because they must hard work to achieve their dream to make a great blog. I thought we remember with the story of google founder. These young boy, Sergey Brin and Larry Page also less in sleep to create this site. I heard that they sleep just one hour in a day, even never sleep in three days.

I came on to internet marketing boat back to 2001, and have had quite a few good ideas about making $$ online, even took initial action on one of them...well, nothing went further, too bad:( By checking out few of the blogs listed here, I feel I've missed out on something big, something I could've done long time ago, sigh...but thanks for the info, I'm now back to work :) This hub makes me wonder if I should continue to write on hubpages...or save everything for my own blog...
