Healthy Eyes, The Window Of The World
Good morning, everyone. After long break about three days, I am back with useful information. I thought my last hub told to us about weird things and the other also told about entertainment. But now I am back again about health topic. I have a question for you. What is the most favorite of your body? hair, nose, breast, leg, lips or buttock maybe. I thought it depending on us as the owner of the body, every person has favorite and I don’t know for each person. This time I want to write about eyes. Most of people agree that eyes are the window of the world. Why they said like this, because we can see this part of the body to see anything. It also used to know anything and what happen in front of us. We know the beautiful of roses, pretty woman, amazing scenery, etc. We can see the differences between each color. And I believe that eyes make the world so beautiful. Now, this is the best time for us to say “thank you” to God, because God create this with good purpose. By the eyes we can see other God’s creation. We don’t know what happen if we lost our vision. I hope this wouldn’t happen to us.
By this hub, I want to peel everything related with healthy eyes. Like I said before that healthy is a long term investment. Better to maintain this from now and I hope we can use our eyes forever. Eyes are the window of beauty. Women should read this!
Every woman must be aware with this. I thought eye has a big role in supporting the beauty of woman. Until the movie producer use this as the title of the famous movie. I thought we still remember with “Golden Eye” one of the James Bond movie. We can saw how Pierce Brosnan attracted many attentions of women in the world. I thought they want to appreciate the eyes by making this movie. This is just in my opinion.
Back to topic, because of this many women do anything to make their eyes looks bright, clear and beautiful. Beauty as an aesthetic concept has to easily been caught by the eye. The makeup artist also said, we don’t need to dress up just to look fresh. Just focus on eye cosmetics.Without having to use a whole set of makeup, you can look beautiful and fresh. Unfortunately, there are many women who don’t realize about the dangers that threaten the beauty of the eye. Like, they put the eye shadow to show the charm without any treatment afterwards. As a result, the eyes were red and skin around the eyes is easy sagging. Another problem came to threaten the beauty of the eye. For example, the eye bag that loosens and looks black, eyelids are no longer tight, and there are wrinkles at the corner of the eye. All these problems caused by the age factor/aging, lifestyle, air pollution and ultraviolet radiation (UV).
What should we do to keep the healthy eye during the busy activities? There’s no instant way. Because of the skin around the eye is the most sensitive skin. For maintenance, we can use cosmetic with plant base. Where these cosmetic are contain hyaluronic acid, D-panthenol, aloevera extract, ginkgo biloba extract, coneflower distilate, and saccharide isomerate. In addition, vitamin A and E, wheat germ oil, rose hips oil and lady's mantle herbs extract that are often contained in an eye cream or moisturizer will help improve eye sagging, dark circles around the eyes and also effective as an anti-inflammatory.
Do we need Contact lens?
Working constantly in front of computer and working under air conditioning can make our eyes tired. The bad effect is reduce the function of vision. Some people choose glasses or contact lenses as a correction of vision problem, especially for farsightedness and astigmatism (cylindrical eye).
I heard that more than 314 million people worldwide live with reduced function of vision and blindness. Wow…this is amazing fact we should to know. Contact lenses have been chosen by many women by several reasons, like: practicality, comfort and appearance. There are many people assume about the danger by using contact lens. In fact, contact lens is safe to be used if we can use this properly.
We can choose many type of contact lens. Such as contact lens made from silicone hydrogel material that is able to deliver oxygen. Enable to us in doing activity more than 7 hours per day without lack of oxygen supply at the cornea. This also avoid red eye, dry eyes, blurred vision, even eye irritation. The other option is contact lenses with a moisturizer, which will moisturize the eye every time you blink. We can change the contact lens everyday based on the occasion or mood. Because there are many colors we can choose, like: grey, pure hazel, brown, honey, green, turquoise, blue, amethyst, true sapphire. The most important thing in wearing contact lens is keep the lens hygienic and try to wear this comfortable as possible.
Tips to avoid eye fatigue in front of computer
I thought we need concentration while working in front of the computer, even in front of laptop. Actually, I felt tired while concentrate to write a hub and browse around the internet. Sometime I need more than five hours to make a hub or just browsing. My friends who addicted with facebook also spend a lot time in front of computer. This also applies for the office employee who also work in all day long in front of computer.I have useful tips to avoid eye fatigue in front ofcomputer. We have to keep our eye always fresh, right. Maybe some of us knew these tips very well, I hope these tips useful to remind us again how we have to care with our eyes while doing activity in front of computer.
- Set the distance and position of monitors with eye. Some expert say that the best distance is about 50-70 cm or we can multiplying the diagonal of screen display with number 2.
- Use a monitor filter. I recommend using the monitor glass filter in order to reduce the blinding rays and radiation emitted by the monitor.I thought we can find this filter in the market or computer shop, right.
- Adjust the room lighting. Don’t use too bright light, this will create glare and interfere with vision. Don’t use too dim lights, this can damage your eyes because it will completely make the eyes look directly into the source of light. The best thing we can do is set the location of the computer table, so the light coming from over head. The using of table lamp also created an object around the monitor looks brighter than the light that comes out of a computer monitor. So the table lamp should be adjusted very well.
- Working with large font. If you working in front of the computer like typing and then you want to edit your work like some text, you should use the large font size. Do not force the eyes to read small letters.
- Don't forget to rest your eyes. The eyes need to be rested for a moment. We can do this by closed the eye for a while or blink. The eyes need to be rested for a moment. A research said that computer users rare to blink, normally without working in front of computer we blink about 12 times per minute. But the fact they often blink 5 times per minute when using the computer. Blink is important to reduce the risk of dry eye. If the eye is open continuously for long time, the corneas become dehydrated and may feel heat or pain. If it's already happening, I recommend using eye drops. But don’t often use eye drops. If you often see at close distance, switch your view towards to other object. Do it every 30 minutes.
Eye exercise
Working at the computer without breaks can make your eyes sore, tired, even red eyes. Muscle tension in the eyelids also cause a shift of the eyeball. More serious, can cause cataracts.There’s a simple method to relieve eyestrain, you can use you palm of the hand. Please follow me:
- Place your palms on each eye, then crossed your fingers from both hands with one another.
- After both eyes closed by the palm of the hand and there's no light coming in through the sidelines of a finger, let your eyes open.
- Hold this position for a while and make sure, you really see the darkness.
- For better result, do this several times a day.

- Massage the area under both eyes using the middle finger
- Press slightly and feel the eye muscles are stiff (at the first time, don't do this too much because it can cause head pain).
- Give massage a few times over the eye bone.
- Massage the stiff muscles at the top of the eye near the nose. Navigate to the corner of the eyes and massage gently. Then move to the muscles at the top of the eyebrow.
