Florence, the Most Beautiful City in Italy
82If we talk about Italy, I believe you will agree with me that this country has many beautiful tourism places. Italy is also known as one of the most amazing countries in Europe. Italy became a top destination country in a series of tours in Europe. This time I’ll talk about Florence. Firenze (Italian) or Florence (French) is the regional capital of Tuscany in the centre of Italy. Florence lies on the River Arno. It is just 300 km south from Milan and 280 km north from Rome or about 80 km east of the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. If we talk about Florence, we will acknowledge about art (renaissance) and architecture, among the cultural heritage. There are many historical places in this city, such as: museums, churches, gardens, academies, art galleries, monasteries, park, Renaissance Palaces, and elegant square. That’s why Florence also been nominated as the most desirable destination for tourists in the world and it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982.
Florence is also well known as the capital city for art lovers. This city also as the birthplace and the best home of many notable historical figures, like: Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Galileo Galilei, Donatello, etc. This is one of the most beautiful cities in the world! Many tourists agree that Florence is a historic city with a masterpiece of architecture, painting, sculpture and natural beauty. “Eh oui! très bonne idee!” , said the French. It means good idea. Colorful city that was so beautiful, stone bridge that crosses the Arno River, a high tower are became a pleasant experience.
In every corner of the city, we can see beautiful scenery which will always attract the eyes. We like surrounded by history, tour in Florence means rotates in the city itself without having to leave at all. It takes three up to four nights to uncover at least half of the town.
What can we see in Firenze?
Town square named Piazza del Duomo which is located in the heart of the historic centre of Florence. This place is good for some serious walking. Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral is the fourth largest church in Europe. Built in stages, the first construction began in 1296 and it's ended in the year 1412. This cathedral has a floor and roof with beautiful mosaics and paintings. All tourists must be busy with their cameras to capture all the beauty inside this building.
Giotto Campanile tower is the next visit. This is an amazing tower which has about 500 steps, we can see the whole city of Florence. Hundreds of stairs that take us on the top gave us beautiful scenery like a carpet with a painting of a city. Large and small building is like a city miniature.
Uffizi is one of the famous art galleries in the world. There’s a largest collection of Botticelli's works inside this museum beside others artist like: Rembrandt, Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo da Vinci, and many others. Ponte Vecchio ('Bridge Old' or Old Bridge) was the only of Florence’s Bridges which was not to blown up in the Second World War. Many people said that this is the busiest bridge in the world. I know there are many religious architectures, museum, palaces, villas, park, square, garden and arches which I can’t mention one by one. But I hope all the pictures here can represent all descriptions here.
A little tips for us
A friend of mine gave me useful tips if we want to go to some of beautiful places in Florence without getting trouble. The first tips is try to buy tickets from the internet before we go to museum, such as Uffizi Museum as the famous museum in the world, because the line could take one to two hours or even more. In Florence tourist internet site, we can buy some tickets to visit tourist attractions in accordance with the days and hours that we want. The second tips is tried to find lodgings in the city, because Florence has so many attractions to visit. With overnight stay in the city, we can save time in travel. Lodging in Florence is not too expensive, my friend suggested us to choose apartment. This is for family holiday. In the apartment, the kitchen is always supplied complete with utensils. We only need to buy others ingredients to be cooked. So, we can save the money. The final tips is be careful in choosing restaurants and café. Florence is a tourist city, don’t be surprised if many restaurants do not set their prices. Service is not included in the price of food, this system mostly in the Italian restaurant. There’s an additional fee for a rental forks, knives, plates, cups, spoons in the bill. Fortunately there are some restaurants which clearly write on the board outside if the service and rentals are included in the price of food. Don't be surprised with so many commercial opportunities here.
I hope you enjoy all informations about Florence. I am on the way in writing about other great place in Florence. Just wait and see. Have a great day!

What courage you display naming Florence the most beautiful cities in Italy. There are so many beautiful cities. I enjoyed your Hub. Brought me back to roaming around eating Gelato.
Great Hub Prasetio,
I was able to visit Italy as a young child..I walked up the leaning tower of Pisa but closed down for about 10 years but I think you can walk up again...my brother and I raced up the narrow stairs..Truly a romantic place I would love to revisit as an adult..I bet you could do a great hub on that!:)for you as you always bring such good information and history..Thank you my friend.
Sunnie
What is amazing for an American is to see these pictures of many things that are older than our country. We are just starting to be aware of trying to preserve some our past.Up and beautiful.
You are right prasetio30, Florence is very beautiful. I have never been to Italy so it was nice to see these photos. Thanks you! :)
Beautiful photos as always prasetio. I have been lucky enough to have travelled to Italy several times, but have never made it to Florence, so thanks for all the great information
Wow such beautiful photos and as always such outstanding information. Florence is one of the places that I've always wanted to visit and now you have allowed me to do so. I hope I will be treated and will actually visit - hopefully for a special anniversary maybe - fingers crossed!!!
Prasetio, thanks so much for taking me/us to Florence. Honestly, my friend, thanks to you I have the opportunity to see the most beautiful places in the world. Places I will never see with my own eyes. You are certainly the king of all tour guides! Just know I appreciate your hubs tremendously. Congratulations with your well-deserved 100 score.
I have always had the desire to visit Florence and very much enjoyed your hub. I loved all the pictures. Great hub rated awesome and beautiful. Love and Peace.
I went to Florence one and it was really beautiful. Sadly, it was only a day trip as my plan was actually Rome. I wished I had more time, maybe stay overnight. Great hub! and nice pictures too!
I stepped around a corner in Florence and saw the Duomo (Cathedral of Santa Maria dei Fiori). Similar feeling to looking into the Grand Canyon. That kind of beauty.
I just love this hub I wish I was there strolling by the water in florence I would love to take a trip to italy to enjoy all the works of art inside and out.
Hello Pra,
Gosh those photos are gorgeous - thanks for sharing your your beautiful city in Japan :)
Cheers
Lisa
This city is amazing. People living there are really lucky. What surprised me is the presence of a Pharaonic obelisk there. How could they carry it from Egypt to Florence? We still have some in Egypt and I find it very difficult to be carried to another country. Might be a magician or a witch with a whoooshy spill:)
Great hub and nice photos prasetio, voted up and beautiful:)
Another beautiful hub and place to visit.
I am ready to go. Where do I rent my fork! lol
Tina
Although I am Italian by birth, I have never had the opportunity to visit. Great Hub! I happen to be wearing my Florence, Italy shirt today, quite a coincidence.
lovely pictures and lots of info.Going there some day.
Voted you up.
You are writing, Pras, about one of my favorite cities, too. I recall the museums with their magnificent art and sculptures as being among the most beautiful in the world. The original Pieta by da Vinci can be seen there as well as his David. You almost have to touch that white alabaster statue to make sure it is not real. Althouth the guards discourage that - understandably. And the Ponte Vecchio, besides being so beautiful, is a tourist shopper's haven. Hope to return there one day.
Bellissima hub, my dear, with excellent tourist tips.
one of the things i notice about all those beautiful pictures is that there are no electrical lines or transformers anywhere to be seen, not like pictures taken in the United States of America, so full of those ugly lines, poles and transformers everywhere. sigh!
Thank you my dear wonderful friend, for such beauty. I so enjoyed this hub and wish so much to go there. :D hugs :D
Thenk you for the beautiful sites Of Florence. I especially liked the sunset picture. Once again you've given us a grand tour.
Smiles
I would love to visit Italy....sigh....thanks for taking me there, Pras~
This it a beautiful hub about a beautiful place. But it saddens me to think that there are many places considered world heritage that are being neglected and left to the erosion of time, the ravage of war and the greed of man.Cultural relics of the past that are being vandalize and pillage for the private collections of a few wealthy people.Again thank you for showing us a place that preserves their cultural heritage and a glimpse of their history.
Prasetio what a beautiful hub about a beautiful city. I have been lucky enough to see Florence in Italy a few times and it truly is beautiful. Thanks for the fantastic photos.
I agree with you - I love Florence and - in fact - the entire Tuscany region of Italy. Its my favorite country in Europe. Voted up and beautiful. Lovely, lovely hub. Best, Steph

Have you ever been to Lecce? Some people call it "the Southern Florence" for its majestic Baroque buildings...and the seaside resorts nearby can compete with the Caribbeans... just to have an idea you could visit http://www.pugliaturismo.com/itinerari/inglese/Def
Your next time in Italy don't forget to visit Lecce!!!
