I thought we love this song. I liked something mysterious and phenomenal. From this hub we can find another natural phenomenon which happened on the earth. After browse some information I found something information to be written. Accidentally, I also saw the same information from my television. That’s why I love reading and watching television, especially about news. I can see what happen outside around the world in a few second. From these hobbies, I can got many ideas and inspirations to make a new hub. This time I’ll talk about an eternal flame. Have you ever heard about this? This is really amazing phenomenon. Actually this happened on the earth and this shown naturally. The earth has so many mysterious things. Both for that can be explained with reason or for something truly unexplained.
I thought many of us knew this phenomenon. Actually from the news on my national television has been shown about eternal fire. Personally, I can’t blink my eyes for a while. Wow…… what’s wrong with this earth? This was totally weird for me and also for the people who watch this news. It’s like a flashback on the movie. Curious…… Ok, I’ll continue this. I thought this phenomenon only happened on my country, Indonesia. But I am totally wrong. This phenomenon also happened in other country. I’ll explain these below. Sorry if I can’t write all the eternal flame places on the earth, because of my limitation and the space on HubPages. But I hope we can enjoy with all information here.
A little about "Eternal Flame"
What is actually eternal flame? a fire source that never die. It’s a natural geological phenomenon, a fire that never goes out even though there's rain. Eternal flames exist in nature as well, as byproducts of natural gas deposits leaking through the ground. Similar phenomenon such as peat fires and coal seam fires can also burn for decades or centuries (taken by: Wikipedia.com). Actually there are many eternal flame places in the world. You can check this more information in Wikipedia. This is a free source to learn more about anything online. We can see the existence of eternal flame became tourist places. Many people want to see this phenomenon in person. I’ll post something unique which happened at the eternal fire place in my country. So, keep on reading.......
The eternal flame at the Monument to the Unknown Soldier in Sofia, Bulgaria
Eternal Flame at the Chimera, Olympos, Turkey
This is a great place to visit. Many legends we can found within unspoiled nature. Actually there’s a story about Bellerophon's myth who riding Pegasus (flying horse), I found this on Wikipedia. And then Bellerophontes buried the Chimera Dragon under the ground. Chimera was the fire-breathing monster from Greek mythology that was part lion, part goat and part snake. Wow… It looks frightening. At an altitude of 250 metres, north-west of Olympus, Turkey. We reach the fire of Chimera after a good half hour climb in the summer heat. The fires spring from different places in the ground and this was so amazing. In Turkish, Chimera itself means burning stone. It results from natural gas ‘leaking’ from the ground through the rocks to the surface. Actually I saw this a part of amazing phenomenon together with beautiful place. No wonder this place is became a special tourism packages.
Eternal Flame in Ottawa, Canada
This is a fire and water eternal flame that burns in front of Canada's Parliament Building on Parliament Hill. We can see this in Toronto tourism packages and other deals. Of course we can see this if we go to Canada. This eternal flame is symbolic flame that forms the central element of a fountain. It self located in the walkway between Queen’s gates and the peace tower on Parliament Hill, Ottawa, Canada. This is an amazing and really beautiful. But I got a new information from someone who comment at www.virtualtourist.com , he say that an eternal flame apparently isn't so eternal. He paid a visit once during the winter and the flame was out. And he said again that "maybe someone forgot to pay the oil bill". Maybe the last comment is kind of joke. Is this guy, right? Anyone has seen this before and the fire turned off in winter. Please comment below and I am glad to know this from you.
Eternal Flame in Xinaliq , Azerbaijan
Xinaliq is an ancient Caucasian village going back to the Caucasian Albanian period. It is located high up in the mountains of Quba Rayon, Azerbaijan. It is a beautiful village with an ethnically people with their own unique language, habits, and culture. The village is called the land where hena (the plant which Indian use to make a temporary tattoo, I also use this sometimes to coloring my hair) grows. Why many people called this, because at sunrise and sunset the surrounding mountains turn the color of hena. We can see stunning scenery around the tiny mountain of Xinaliq in North eastern, Azerbaijan. I heard that in this village lives only 400 people, except the satellite TV and electricity. We can find natural eternal flame at Ateshgah. Please enjoy the picture below and the beautiful scenery of this village.
Eternal flame in Indonesia
“Kayangan Api” at Bojonegoro
Eternal flame which located in the Sendangharjo village, Ngasem district , Bojonegoro (East Java). A village inside the jungle in the west side of Kayangan Api, there is a puddle of mud that contain of sulfur, and according to belief, at that time still made farm tools and traditional weapon like “keris”. Many people of Bojonegoro people believe that this place was sacred. At this time this place became tourism place complete with transportation, telecommunication and accommodation. After visiting this place we can continue to other tourism place like Watu Jago Bojonegoro and to Ngawi regency tourism objects. Many people said that this is the biggest eternal fire in the world. I’m not too sure about this before see this in person. But you can check by the picture below.
Eternal flame in Madura Island
We can see this phenomenon in the Larangan Tokol Village, Tanakan district, Pamekasan, Madura (east Java). This is a fire phenomenon was surrounded by the fence. If the soil was dug around the spot fire, the flames would bigger than before. Nobody knew where this fire came from. There was a study about natural gas and oil content around this place, but they did not find anything. The fire that appears on the surface is like a gas stove with a blue flame. Some tourist use this moment to burn a chicken or corn which has been provided around this place. Of course we pay for this. You can see the picture below.
I know there are many amazing phenomenons in the world. We have to grateful with this as a big gift from God. Especially for us who can see these in person. There is no doubt that the hub is a great one. But it reminds me the international met held in Copenhagen for the protection of environment. Natural fire is a loss of wealth of the Earth on the one hand and encouraging the pollution on the other. Is it not urgent to utilize this natural power for the benefit of Mankind?
