Another Big Hole in China (Complete with Sinkhole Theory)
88Haven't lost the surprised me with a big hole in Guatemala City. But I heard another incident with the same scheme. It happened in China. We all know that natural phenomenon sometimes look weird. The big hole in Guatemala was shocking me much. And it happened again in China. God as a director of nature, often reveals the secrets of nature and something weird in this earth which human doesn't know about that. Actually from my last hub about "Big Hole in Guatemala, Another Weird Phenomenon"I got a lot of comment and input from many hubbers who interest with this topic. For me personally it looks really weird, whether this is really unreasonable. And one of my friends, drbj said, "Mother nature is trying to tell us something". As a person who has spiritual side, I think we all agree with him. Because we don not knows exactly when it happen. Because of of this natural disaster happen directly without any warning.
When it happened again in China, it made me think again. "what happen with this earth?" Is the earth getting old? Or it made by human error. Like my friend, TheListLady said that it also happen in New York City in smaller scale. This hole can swallow a car or two cars also. It predicted because of the underground digging for city plumbing, electricity and now for cable. I think it reasonable reason. And this is new information for me.
Back to topic. The big hole in Chine was more than one Hole, around eight holes. Giant hole appeared in approximately 300 miles or 500 km west of Nanchang City, capital of Jiangxi Province. Eight holes occur within two weeks. The strange of this hole was many other holes appeared after the local resident reported to the government. The last hole shown at June 4,2010. The exactly time was at 12:25 o'clock in the morning at Beijing time. In the middle of the freeway in Zhejiang Province(eastern coastal areas of the country). The size of the hole around 27 feet or 8 meters with a depth of 20 feet or 6.5 meters. This hole occurs when a trucks was passing through this street. This truck rolled over when the wheel caught the hole. The driver was suddenly climbed when he saw big gaping hole in front of him.
The expert said that this happen due the collapse of limestone caves. It caused by erosion. But the investigation was still being done. On June 3, four big holes occurred in Guangxi Province during heavy rain storms. According to China's media reports, more than 600 residents have been evacuated because of the incident.

I know this incident really weird and sometimes unreasonable. To remind again, I got a lot of comment about incident happen in Guatemala. I know many experts also give some theory about how this happen in this beautiful earth. I got information about the scheme how the sinkhole happened. Maybe we can learn from this scheme. I found this scheme from http://www.lakecountyfl.gov site.The official site of water resources division. And they have mission to restore water resources of Lake County. They also served water quality service program. I think there are many environment expert who responsible in this site. They could explain anything about environment based on the soil and water. That's why this scheme was placed in this site. I hope it useful for us as knowledge. Please see the see the scheme below.
We may free to share an opinion and give some theory about sinkhole or big hole. But everything comes from God. We can't deny everything which happened in this earth. I also can't be explained theoretically about this incident. I just a teacher and I am not an environmental expert. But I hope everything goes well. A minute ago when I browse through internet, I found shocking news. This is really weird and I never found like this before. The weird phenomenon was happen in Guatemala. Because of Agatha storm struck the city of Guatemala and then a large hole (sinkhole) appeared in the middle of the city. This hole mysteriously appeared after the disaster.

This is very interesting to me, and yes is the Earth trying to tell us something? However the famous water cavers have water holes and tunnels everywhere, so take a look at that and compare. Great hub, thumbs up my friend..

GPAGE, the first time I saw these holes in China, I have the same feeling with you. I can't imagine it also happen in another place, again and again. But I pray it not happen. I thought it just happen in Guatemala and will stop. I believe this incident make us worry about the situation around us, and make us wonder, "Do we stand in the right place?". Well that explains it nicely. The photos are astonishing for sure. But, when I look inside the holes they look just like the caves we have here in limestone, so the explanation all makes sense.

Totally weird, isn't it? I think there was one on highway 101 not too long ago and the road was closed for quite some time while they repaired it. Great info, Prasetio. I would not be wanting to be coming up on one unawares that's for sure.

I see you included a picture too of a small sink hole in China with a car in it. This is what happens so often in New York City. Sometimes they are much bigger and we never know when or where it may happen - there is rarely a warning.

A bit worrying
Hi Prasetio, we've had some major holes appear in our roads following the unusually bad winter here in the South of England, but none of them were on the scale of the ones you describe, thank goodness! The planet seems to be quite volatile at present, and I think we'll see more unusual phenomena in the coming years.
Very interesting, thank you for the information. Now we have a saying when someone is digging a deep hole. We say, "are you digging to China?" Here's my theory: A fleet of extremely dim-witted aliens landed on Earth, but on the opposite side from where they actually intended. Once they realized their mistake and being semi-familiar with American culture, they theorized that if one could dig a hole from America to China... They got so far before realizing that their race was exceptionally allergic to work, at which time they began lounging around, leaning on their shovels, holding directional signs, and were hired by the Transportation Dept. Which explains why it always takes 15 people to do one person's work, and why every construction requires a detour that comes out nowhere near the place you were originally going. Makes sense to me. (Keeping in mind who "I" am.)

Sinkholes are quite common in the Gauteng and North West provinces of South Africa and are largely due to deep level mining activity. I was once many years ago driving in the early morning to a branch office of the company I was working for at the time when I came to a lot of police activity and a long deviation of the road due to a sinkhole, a very large one, which had developed in the road on which I was travelling. Had I been a few minutes earlier I might have fallen into it!

do you think the huge earthquakes had something to do with these sinkholes?
It also happened in La Jolla a couple years back, it was huge! I have not theory on why it happens but I do speculate that it is entirely possible that scientist should re-asses all those craters on the moon. Sure some of them did come from impact but like Earth, not all of them have come from impact... it's that or Hades is opening her big fat mouth. lol Good read.
It is very interesting and oddly apocalyptic considering all the things going on in the world right now. Maybe in increments it seems like just another natural disaster, do them all at once it seems sinister.

i m not agree with u..middle layer is just not make with lime stone...granite and oter types of rock aer also persent...lime stone simply cant hold whole the responsiblities....
After all the years of extracting oil from the ground and the sea beds, it is little surprise that the underworld maybe has collapsed all over the place, or maybe there is a hidden under world that some speculate. Funny that it is in places far apart and within a few years. Even lakes have disappeared.
This world holds so many fascinating mysteries. Where I came from, there were a number of sink holes. The land was limestone and quartz sand. In the river, you could often fall into one as you walked across it.
Where I live now, there are several places in the rivers and lakes, where scientist say no bottom can be found.

It cause disaster in every where, the exactly location in Sidoarjo (Indonesia). Because of that, we can see mud sink the house, factory and many public places and then the soil structure become weak. Since the occurrence of this sink hole may be as normal for others, but for some, it may be a mystery since it occurred simultaneously. In all matters there is the law of cause and effect. Human efforts seems to ignore that as a principle to consider, why = greed. Now it is pay back time. Earth is not a forever machine, it is a habitat that has boundaries that have to be understood cared for, respected. Many cities are sitting on top of such 'Sink Holes', built without regard of cause and effect. It should be no surprise that you get back what you put in.
