Amazing Tour in Liechtenstein
81Last night I watched great television program about travel. This program shows beautiful country in Europe. A small country called Liechtenstein. From this hub I’ll take you in a virtual tour visiting Liechtenstein. The country which only 60 square miles in land squeezed between Switzerland and Austria in the valley cut through the Alps by the Rhine River (bordered by Switzerland to the west and south and by Austria to the east). Liechtenstein is the fourth smallest country in Europe. This country completely landlocked, because the Liechtenstein’s people crossing two countries to reach the sea, separated from Austria by steep mountain massif and Switzerland by the Rhine River. Don’t ask me about the the scenery, I guarantee that Liechtenstein is a unique destination in the world. Liechtenstein is well known as the smallest country, precisely the sixth smallest country in the world. Lichtenstein was known as the world's biggest dentures producer. Country with a total area of 160,475 km2 and estimated population of 35,000 has beautiful scenery with mountains surrounding it. Most residents live in the Rhine Valley. Because it was surrounded by mountains and the highlands, this country has a cold climate.
The most excited things to do while traveling in Liechtenstein are hiking and biking around the beautiful ancient villages and met friendly Lichtenstein's inhabitants. In winter, the mountains around Lichtenstein will be covered with white snow. Skiing in these mountains can be an option if you like to pump your adrenalin. Lichtenstein also has many interesting museums. Don't forget to visit Ski and Wintersport Museum, Liechtenstein National Museum, and The Postage Stamp Museum on the Capital Lichtenstein, Valduz. There's also an art museum which containing the works of masters painter such as Rembrandt, Rubens and Van Dyck. The most famous historical sites are Gutenberg Castle, Vaduz Castle, the ruins of Schellenberg and the Red House.
Vaduz, the capital city of Liechtenstein
Vaduz is the main city of Liechtenstein. We can find Vaduz Castle as the most prominent landmark in Vaduz. This castle is can be seen from almost any location in Vaduz. This castle is located on top a steep hill in the middle of the city. Another beautiful places as the landmark of Vaduz are Government House, City Hall, and The Cathedral of St. Florin.

How do we get there?
Liechtenstein can be reach by use the car from the city of Zurich, Switzerland (2 hours from Zurich and 4 hours from Milan). Another alternative is by using a bus from the Sargans bus station in Switzerland, within a few minutes away by train from Zurich. We can take a flight to the Zurich Airport (about 115 km), there is a train station under Zurich Airport. This train will take us to the border of Liechtenstein faster that any car rental. The capital of Lichtenstein, Vaduz, very easily accessible and tourist attractions can be found just by walking.
How the people love Liechtenstein!
The Postage Stamp Museum
The Postage Stamp Museum (Briefmarkenmuseum) is one of the most popular attractions with many visitors in Liechtenstein. We can find many things related with postage, like: historical postal service equipment, historical documents, rare stamps from Liechtenstein, devices and special exhibits are presented in the museum. Many stamps collectors from around the world come to Leichtenstein or tourists who just looking for a unique souvenir from the postage stamp principality. That’s why Leichtenstein has often been referred to as a “Postage Stamp Country”. Leichtenstein is a special place in the hearts of stamp collectors. The Postage Stamp Museum was first established in 1936 by Liechtenstein Consul H. W. Sieger. He is a stamp collector who donated his own stamps collection and other postage things. Based on the history this museum has moved a few times over the years. But now we can easily find this place in the center of the capital of Vaduz. For stamp collector who want to see the Princess Diana stamps, they the Philcon Stamp Shop. This shop is located two blocks from the Postal Museum next to the Art Museum. The visitors can enter to this museum without admission fee. This museum open daily from 10 am - noon and 1 pm - 5 pm.
Ski and Winter Sport Museum
I want to say this is one of rare museum in the world. I think the ski lovers would love this museum. I got this information from trusted source, it said that "Liechtenstein" has won more Olympic medals than any other country in the world. No wonder that Liechtenstein is become Europe’s fourth smallest country with winter snows and ski resort. This museum was first opened in 1993. So, what can we see here? We can see more than 1,000 exhibits of skis, like: snowshoes, bindings, ski manufacturing equipment, bobsleds, ski clothing, uniforms, racing gear, photos, mountain climbing gear, photos, one of the best collection are medals and memorabilia. Who is the man behind this museum? There’s a former ski racer, namely Noldi Beck. He is also the ski instructor. He started collecting many things related with ski at the end of the 1980s. Now we can visit this museum outside Vaduz next to the distinctive Liectenstein Hochschul. All the ski collection had been placed at three floors of the modern buildings. Noldi Beck is the tour guide for his museum and he loves to talk all about his collection. This museum is open on Monday to Friday from 2pm - 6pm. With admission fee about € 4.
Winery tour
If you have a plan to visit Leichtenstein, don’t forget with this tour. Liechtenstein is a culinary paradise with guesthouses, gourmet restaurants, alpine cabins and a princely wine culture. Based on the history, Liechtenstein's wine was still stamped out by foot until late 1930's. Wine is the second most export commodity after cattle. The good news is we can visit wine producers and help pick during the season across ten acres of grapes in the heart of the wine growing region. We can find special grape's cultivar, the people called this as the Blauburgunderand Chardonnay grapes. There are plenty of wine shops with a huge selection in Liechtenstein. We can also visit the Prince’s winery (the Hofkellerei des Fürsten von Liechtenstein). This place is open for wine tasting Monday to Saturday. I heard that the wine tasting is free and the visitor can buy the branded glasses as well. This was amazing tour for wine lovers where they can find the wines produced with the label of the Prince of Liechtenstein’s Hofkellerei which we can only find this wine in specialized retailers or exclusive restaurants.
Skiing in Malbun
This place is like a fairyland, I love this words! There are many winter trails to be explored and enjoyed. This place was convenient and located at a comfortable altitude of just over 1600 m above sea-level with new lifts and facilities (three modern chairlifts servicing virtually all of the resort). Malbun is located at the end of an Alpine valley. Malbun is a peaceful valley for skiers and it has various lifts. These lifts take skiers up to 2000 m above sea-level. There is a small cross-country paradise for cross-country skiers. They can find this in Steg, a little valley about 3 km from Malbun. Wow…this was so amazing experience through a snowy fairytale world. This is the best place for a more challenging ski excursion. We can also stay in the Hotel Gorfion. This is ski-out family hotel where we can send our kids in the ski school.

Years ago, pras, I traveled with a group of friends and we visited Liechtenstein. The country is so small compared to its neighbors that our standing joke was blink and you will miss the country. We visited Vaduz, the museum and the winery as I recall. A charming, picturesque city nestled in the mountains. Thanks for rekindling those very pleasant memories. Voted up, my friend.
